The Wellbrook Campaign
Cross Keys Village operated Wellbrook, an Adult Day Services program, until 2020. Wellbrook’s closure was brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and left an unfulfilled need in the community for a safe daytime environment, designed for our neighbors who live with dementia.
The Brethren Home Foundation’s $2.6 million Wellbrook Capital Campaign, started in 2023, exceeded its goal in raising the funds to cover the construction and the programming for a new Memory Support Resource Center and Day Services on the Cross Keys Village campus. These two programs will open in early 2025, housed in a new building, Lifespring at Cross Keys Village.
Moving right along!
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on December 13, 2023, allowing us to bless the grounds for which the new Lifespring Day Services and Memory Support Resource Center will stand. Villager Dorie Skinkus, who served on the Campaign Steering Committee for the fundraising efforts, eagerly shares, “This isn’t just a want for this community—it’s a need!”
On December 4, 2024, Cross Keys Village celebrated the Dedication and Grand Opening of Lifespring, a state-of-the-art environment that will host Day Services and a Memory Support Resource Center. As thousands of daily commuters who pass the site daily on Route 94 can attest, construction went swiftly, and we are on schedule for a start of operations in early 2025.
