The magnificence of butterflies taking flight will highlight the 18th Annual Butterfly Release, held to benefit the Good Samaritan Fund at Cross Keys Village, which supports residents who have exhausted their financial resources. Money is raised through butterfly sponsorships, which honor or memorialize a loved one. 

The 2025 Butterfly Release will take place at the Cross Keys Village pond, starting at 10:00 on Saturday, May 31. 

“The need for charity care has perhaps never been as vital as it is today,” says Vanessa Berger, Vice President of Advancement. “Reimbursement from government agencies is shrinking. Meanwhile, costs continue to increase. Gifts to the Good Samaritan Fund help to provide a vital link in assuring that all residents receive the quality care they deserve.”

Please Note: The names of honored or departed loved ones will be read aloud prior to the butterflies being released. Online butterfly sponsorships will be accepted until May 23. Please sponsor your butterfly by May 21 for inclusion in the list of names.

Butterfly sponsorships will continue up to and including the day of the event, according to supply. Please call our Foundation office at 624-5208 to reserve a butterfly or if you have any questions, and see you on May 31!

With a gift of $25 you can personally release a butterfly at our May 31 event or have one released for you.
