So Close to the Goal

In addition to overseeing day-to-day fundraising, the Brethren Home Foundation engages periodically in capital campaigns designed to help with the funding of ambitious projects. Fifteen years ago or so, we saw such a campaign when Cross Keys Village envisioned the Harvey S. Kline Wellness Center as a key feature of the new Harmony Ridge West apartments. More recently, another campaign brought welcome financial support to the construction and the programming of our revolutionary Brookside memory care residence.

Today the Foundation team is planning a mass mailing that will be the final appeal for the Vitality Campaign, a project that kept them busy for the better part of two years. As everyone knows who is involved with Cross Keys Village, the Vitality Campaign will make villagers’ long-held wishes a reality, bringing our thriving Discovery, Wellness, and Cultural Arts activities to a whole new level. Inviting new expansions to the Harmony Ridge complex will include a new Classroom/Theater with superior acoustics and sightlines, an enlarged Wellness Center with additional changing facilities, a well-equipped Art Education Studio, and new social spaces such as a Gathering Room and Game Room. A new Avenue of the Arts, bathed in natural light, will connect these new spaces to the updated Harmony Café.

Together, our community has reached $1,656,170 of its $2 million goal. An anonymous donor is offering an exciting challenge gift, matching every donation (up to $170,000) to help reach the goal. The campaign will recognize donors of $1,000 or more by including them on the donor wall at the entrance to the Avenue of the Arts. Donors have an opportunity to sponsor a seat in the Classroom/Theater for a gift of $1,000 or more. Commemorative pavers near the theater entrance are now available for those who give $250 or more. With construction slated to wrap up by year end, 2022 is sure to be filled with plentiful events to delight all tastes.

The Vitality Campaign is seeking gifts of all sizes from those who believe in our work and mission. Please contact a member of the Foundation team at (717) 624-5208 if you would like to discuss making a gift, if you have questions about a planned gift, or a naming opportunity for the Vitality Campaign.
