Opening a Gift to the Community
On December 4, Cross Keys Village celebrated the Dedication and Grand Opening of Lifespring, a state-of-the-art environment that will host Day Services and a Memory Support Resource Center. Construction began in April for this much-needed resource for the community. As thousands of daily commuters who pass the site daily on Route 94 can attest, construction went swiftly, and we are on schedule for a start of operations in early 2025.
The ceremony included remarks from our retiring President and CEO, Jeff Evans, along with a warm introduction of our new President and CEO, Beverly Asper. The invited guests also heard from Board Chair Karl Lehman and COO Dr. Joy Bodnar before a dedication prayer by Rev. Linda Titzell, our Senior Pastor.
Donors to the Wellbrook Memory Support Capital Campaign, board members, members of the capital campaign steering committee, and local dignitaries took guided tours of Lifespring, with expert showcasing of the building’s features by our Memory Support Education team.
The Foundation team far exceeded the $2.6 million goal to raise 100 percent of the funds needed for construction. In parallel, an ongoing endowment will help provide much-needed education and support to the community, within and outside our walls.
What is Lifespring?
Lifespring is the latest component in Cross Keys Village’s comprehensive portfolio of memory support services, a specially designed building hosting two distinct programs:
- Lifespring Day Services is located on the south side of the building. It is an innovative memory care day program, focused on engaging the mind, body, and spirit of those living with dementia while providing an affordable break for their care partners. The Day Services will have capacity for 28 participants who can choose to attend full days or half days.
- The Memory Support Resource Center, located on the north side of the building, will hold seminars and support groups in a meeting room for up to 36 attendees. There will also be office space for our Memory Support experts and a library of resources. This service, part of our outreach ministry, is available at no cost to our residents and team, and to those living in the surrounding communities.
Who are the team members involved in the program?
