Looking Back on 10 Years of Progress

August marks my 10-year anniversary as the President/CEO of Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community. As I reflect on this decade of work, I am immersed in a sense of personal fulfillment and gratitude. The drive in my career has been to use my God-given abilities together with my experience in the field of aging services to contribute in some way to making the world around me a better place. I found a workplace home for that passion at CKV.

During this time, I have witnessed how this organization, like a magnet, attracts exceptional people to work here – people devoted to the mission and striving to do good for others. There is such a positive energy around our campus when so many come together with the common goal to enrich the lives of older adults in this way.

I am thankful to work with the wonderful people who together guide this organization – our senior leadership team and volunteer board of directors. I have seen a steadfast focus on continuous improvement in all that we do along with devotion to CKV’s faith foundation and the core values imbedded in our culture – Show Compassion, Act Responsibly, Work Together, Celebrate Life, and Be Innovative.

We have accomplished much together.  New building projects have enhanced quality of life. We endured the pandemic crisis much better than most. Our recent season of government surveys across our continuum of services has demonstrated that CKV is clinically and operationally very sound. We have evolved our campus and services to strategically position for the future, and there are more exciting things to come.

My hope is that whatever I am involved in creating here will endure well beyond my time and positively impact lives for many years to come.
