CKV Wins Great Place to Work Certification
In today’s competitive labor market, employers need to be creative in the ways they recruit and retain strong talent. Companies are complex work environments with distinctive – and widely discussed – workplace cultures. Increasingly, job candidates limit their choice of an employer to organizations that match their individual values, and employment becomes a personal relationship more than a business transaction.
As a part of our continued commitment to workplace engagement and culture, we have been assessing ourselves through workplace surveys at least every two years. In the past, Cross Keys Village has run employee satisfaction and engagement surveys through consulting firms. However, under the leadership of our Vice President of Human Resources Kelley Mitchell, we decided this year to try something new. Great Place to Work® (GPTW) Institute invited CKV to participate in their Best Workplace certification process. For over 30 years, GPTW has worked with leading companies in all fields, to help build and recognize high-trust workplace cultures.
Kelley’s prior knowledge of the survey tool helped her guide her team through the application process, which included extensive probing inside the organization’s practices and programs. In addition, GPTW helped administer a Trust Index© Survey, capturing employees’ perception of the workplace and comparing the results to key benchmarks in similar industries.
Based on our team members’ responses, Cross Keys Village was officially certified as a great workplace through Great Place to Work® Institute. Being “Great Place to Work” certified means that we are eligible to be considered for further distinctions, including Fortune Magazine’s Best Workplaces for Aging Services list, which will be published in September.
