A Writing Assignment
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a significant yet “invisible” element of a marketing plan. It comprises ongoing tweaks to the content of a website, made in order to attain a higher ranking on search engines (the first page of Google search results being the gold standard). Today, our SEO partner WebFX has determined that the CKV website needs a long article (1,500 words) with the following title: “What Is the Best Age to Consider Moving to a Retirement Community?”
This will not be an easy task, because there is no best age to do anything. New villagers at Cross Keys Village choose to move to our community for a wide range of reasons, each a little different, and each perfectly valid for their personal situation. Our Retirement Counselors’ relationship with prospective villagers is never automated: telephone calls are not scripted, and follow-up emails do not follow a template. One size does not fit all. When I have finished this article, the conclusion will not be a particular age but a juncture in the maturing process, a sweet spot – neither too early nor too late – for reaping the optimal benefits of CCRC living.
Upon reflection, the key word in the proposed title is consider. All retirees should consider the Senior Living options that are available in their area and in their price range. And they should do so unhurriedly while life is still enjoyable. One surely cannot approach old age or extreme old age hoping it will just go away. A degree of planning is indispensable. At the CKV Welcome Center, we encounter families that have “waited too long” for Residential Living. Fortunately, we have other options on campus for such situations.
We also have experience with visitors who come to us with outdated misconceptions about Senior Living, hoping that at the end of their visit they will leave with a clear plan not to move to a retirement community. Instead, they commonly leave surprised, almost ready to consider community living. Now it is your turn to consider. As always, our Retirement Counselors welcome dialogue, they will listen to your story when you sit down for an appointment, and pledge to help clarify which senior living option is best for your individual situation.
